Far Roc Competition Site Plan

The Ring ©

Spiraling the central atrium from street level to the rooftop Planetarium is a ring of cloudlike exhibits and interactive areas. Sixty-five 1500sf (140sm) platforms each elevate 1ft (0.3m) with an integral ADA-grade ramp. Progressing among exhibits, one hardly notices the gradual elevation change.

Configured open, canopied or as a room, each circular platform designates an independent space for temporary or permanent exhibits, hands-on or discussion areas, rest rooms or storage. The Pre-K play area, Pre-K Discovery Room and access to the below-grade theatre reside on the street level with a cafe, museum store, offices and storage. Over 500 PV Solar Panels form part of the Ring’s southern skin. Visible to museum visitors and passersby, they broadcast “green design”.
